Stop 4: Whakapapa

Our fourth and final stop will take us to the North Island via Hamilton to Whakapapa. We will stay at the Skotel Alpine Resort in the Tongariro National Park. Some links:

Stop 3: Mount Cook

Our third desitnation will be Mount Cook, where we will spend four nights at Hermitage Chalets. Some links:

Stop 2: Franz Josef Glacier

We will spend 3 days at the Franz Josef Glacier on the west coast of the South Island. We will stay at the Franz Josef Holiday Park. Here are some links of interest (mainly touristy):

Real Stop 1: Cass Field Station

The first two days in the field we will based out of Cass Field Station, run by the University of Canterbury. Cass is on the doorstep of the braided Waimakariri River. Some links on the Waimakarri:

    We'll be staying the first night in the city of Christchurch at the YMCA Hostel. You'll be so jet-lagged you probably won't have much motivation to explore...
